Rwanda graciously embraces and offers sanctuary to over 160 individuals seeking asylum, who have been safely evacuated from trouble of Libya. This compassionate act of hospitality exemplifies the unwavering commitment of the Ministry in charge of Emergency Management (MINEMA) towards providing solace to those in dire need.

The ministry has conveyed that the asylum seekers hail from a diverse range of nationalities, specifically 82 individuals from Sudan, 56 from Eritrea, 5 from Somalia, 9 from Ethiopia, and  1 from South Sudan.

 

These individuals will find solace and support at the esteemed Gashora Transit Center. However has already provided shelter and assistance to previous evacuees.

The distinguished establishment gracefully situated in the esteemed Gashora Sector. Nestled within the illustrious Bugesera District of the revered Eastern Province. Presented before you is the illustrious 16th cohort of asylum seekers hailing from Libya. Authenticated records from the esteemed Ministry of Interior, Nationality, and Migration Affairs unveil that the preceding group, the 15th.

Consist of 169 individuals seeking asylum, emanating from the distinguished nations of Eritrea, Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, and South Sudan.  The resplendent data provided by MINEMA proudly proclaims that an astonishing total of 2059 evacuees have been graciously  accommodated in a series of 16 commendable endeavors  since the advent of September 2019.

Other Countries housing asylum seekers

Exemplifying commitment to humanitarian excellence, a remarkable 68 percentage have resettled in third countries, ensuring their well-being.

In Canada, a staggering number of 381 individuals sought refuge, while Sweden graciously provided sanctuary for 255 souls.

Norway, renowned for its compassion, welcomed 193 displaced individuals, and the United States open to 168 individuals in need.

France, a symbol of solidarity, extended its warm embrace to 141 individuals, and Finland 187 souls.

The Netherlands provided solace to 82 individuals, and Belgium, offered sanctuary to 26 individuals in search of a new beginning.

MINEMA emphasized  Rwanda dedicates to provide sanctuary and support  to  individuals requiring assistance.
