Ambassador’s Travel Grant’ announced for expatriate Bangladeshi students

The esteemed Bangladesh Embassy in Myanmar is delighted to announce the prestigious ‘Ambassador’s Travel Grant’. Specially designed to support and empower our esteemed expatriate Bangladeshi students residing in Myanmar.

Ambassador Dr. Md. Monwar Hossain eloquently proclaimed these words on the auspicious occasion of the inaugural National Expatriates’ Day, held in grand celebration on Saturday, the 30th of December, 2023.

During this momentous event, the Embassy orchestrated a thought-provoking ‘Exchange of Views’ session, graced by the presence of esteemed Bangladeshi expatriates residing in Myanmar.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that Bangladesh maintains an unwavering commitment to closely monitor the ongoing violence in Myanmar.

In his opening address, Ambassador Dr. Md. Monwar Hossain expressed profound reverence for the esteemed Father of the Nation. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, alongside his revered family members who sacrificed their lives. And the heroic three million martyrs who valiantly fought for our liberation.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude towards the expatriate Bangladeshis for their unwavering dedication in contributing to the advancement of our nation’s socio-economic landscape. He emphasized the multitude of services, incentives, and initiatives offered by the government to ensure the well-being of our expatriates both at home and overseas.

The Ambassador passionately urged them to continue their invaluable support by increasing investments in Bangladesh. While actively promoting our country’s positive image on the international stage.

The highest court of Myanmar has dismissed the special plea of the deposed leader Aung San Suu Kyi, pertaining to her conviction on bribery charges.

Ambassador Dr. Md. Monwar Hossain proudly introduces the prestigious ‘Ambassador’s Travel Grant’. A remarkable initiative designed  to bestow grants upon five extraordinary Bangladeshi expatriate students annually.

These grants aim to alleviate the financial burden associated with their educational and research endeavors within Bangladesh or Myanmar. The audience resoundingly applauded this commendable initiative.

Bangladeshi expatriates eagerly conveyed their desire to actively contribute to Bangladesh’s ongoing journey of development. Led by the esteemed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and work towards the realization of a prosperous ‘Golden Bangla’. As envisioned by the revered Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The event will be graced with the esteemed presence of dignitaries, including the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, and Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment.

The programme will entail the eloquent recital of their heartfelt messages, a captivating screening of an enlightening documentary. And a thought-provoking discussion session.

Distinguished individuals from the Bangladesh Community, encompassing esteemed businessmen Bangladeshi  professionals working in esteemed international organizations such as United Nations.  Meanwhile INGOs, multinational corporations, as well as esteemed officers and officials of the Embassy  graced  the  occasion with their presence.

The esteemed guests were graciously attended to with delightful refreshments.
